Finally Started
I’ve been meaning to write publicly for years. Always had excuses:
- “I need to find the right platform”
- “The setup needs to be perfect”
- “I should have 10 posts ready before I launch”
If you’re waiting for perfect, you’ll be waiting forever. So here I am — one post, minimal setup, public.
The setup
A big thanks to Ju for building 5000blogs — exactly what I needed. Markdown files, no database, Docker deployment, done. No endless fiddling with Jekyll configs or WordPress plugins. Just write and go.
That’s the sysadmin in me appreciating simplicity. Most of my career has been watching people over-engineer solutions. This ain’t that.
What’s coming
I don’t have a content calendar (gross). But topics I’m likely to hit:
- Security — practical stuff, not FUD. Real threat models, common mistakes, actually useful advice.
- Infrastructure — war stories, lessons learned, things that shouldn’t work but do.
- Simplicity — fighting the urge to add Kubernetes to everything.
- Random — whatever I’m thinking about that week.
The vibe
Chaotic-good. Helpful. Straight to the point. No “thought leadership” or corporate speak.
Here we go.
